Water Supply

Hot water – Provided by a solar panel system, sized for the existing beds – It may take up to 4/5 minutes to reach the house; in the absence of sun, the water is replenished in the tanks by a gas boiler system… let's save even more on grey days! For balanced operation and savings in energy/consumables/maintenance, we ask that you use water in an environmentally conscious manner.

LOOK AFTER THE ENVIRONMENT WITH QB!

Septic Tank:

Please dispose of toilet paper and other personal hygiene items in the rubbish bin to ensure the effectiveness of our biological septic tanks and preserve the environment.

Saving Energy – GOOD PRACTICES – LET'S PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT, LET'S THINK GREEN! THE PLANET THANKS YOU!

Water at QB is energy and is extracted from a borehole using an electric pump, passing through a complex system of filtration and bacteriological treatment equipment that makes it drinkable and safe for human consumption;
TAKE QUICK SHOWERS and do not leave the water running while you soap yourself.
TURN OFF THE TAP while brushing your teeth, shaving or washing dishes.
Only use the heating in cases of extreme necessity and in the absence of a wood-burning stove; to ensure everyone’s safety, make sure that all unnecessary equipment, including heaters, is turned off if you are leaving, even for a short time; Do not dry any type of material/fabric on electric heaters as this poses a fire risk.
Do not leave lit candles unattended. Turn off outdoor lights or other unnecessary lights after nightfall; the same applies to indoor lights; turn off the ceramic hob before finishing cooking, as it retains heat that allows it to finish its function; use the ceramic hob only for cooking/do not place other objects on it.

For safety reasons, the ceramic hob has child protection – activate/deactivate this function using the “padlock” symbol, press for a few seconds until you hear a “beep”; we are committed to sustainability through international benchmarks in partnership with the Biosphere community.

Recycling bins and organic waste for composting:

Located on the access road to the houses, the recycling bins (blue, green, yellow and unsorted waste) are available to all houses.
Next to the wood-burning oven and the outdoor sink, there are containers for organic waste that we collect for composting. At Casa da Pedra there are containers for organic and unsorted waste;
